The Connecting Commerce Virtual 5K is a $15 virtual race organized by Connecting Commerce Business Association to help give us a goal to look forward to and support other local small businesses who need our help!
Many road races were canceled in light of the COVID-19 and while this is NOT a full in-person event, you’ll still be able to have a sense of accomplishment together by helping your community. So, to practice appropriate social distancing, while setting goals, we’ve organized this special day.
Set a 5k goal and circle August 22nd – August 30th on your calendar.
Lace ’em up and Run/Walk a 5K whenever, wherever you can during the day. This is NOT a group run. You can run/walk your neighborhood, a local trail, etc.
Set time aside between August 22nd – 30th to walk, run, or be active however you can to get ready. Complete your run/walk and share it online in the Facebook Event that you completed your 5k by yourself or with your family! For those that want to work on speed, you’re welcome to post your course map and time. Post online. Tag @connectingcommerce on Facebook/IG and #connectingcommerce to be reposted.
Times or completion will be self-reported so everyone can follow the CDC guidelines during their race.
At the end we’ll put together a mini-results board!
DONATION REDISTRIBUTION
This Race will be sponsored by many of our friends who have local small businesses in North Mankato. Every person who enters and completes the race will receive a gift card from one of the businesses. It’s our way of paying them back and helping them connect with our incredible community.
The total amount donated will be totaled and redistributed equally back to all the sponsoring small businesses in the form of gift card purchases. To be entered in the gift card pool you must donate $15 to register for the race and post your completed time.
